Richard's Building is home to several businesses in downtown Fort Myers, and it has a new look that you can't miss.
The building's new, bright white paint has caused a major controversy.
That's why Fort Myers City Council will decide on Wednesday whether or not it was the right decision for the new owners to do this, or reverse their work.
Back in August, Fort Myers Historic Preservation Commission ruled the new owners, Alessio Development, must remove the white paint.
Underneath is the original red and orange brick.
According to the city, the building was painted in March without permission.
The city issued a stop work order, but the company kept painting the building, stating they had to in order for the paint to be consistent.
Alessio Development is appealing the decision.
There is a chance the Historic Preservation Commissions decision will be overturned.
The city council meeting starts at 12 p.m. on Wednesday.
