NBC2 spoke to several voters on Saturday at the Lee County Elections Center, and each one had something in common - the lack of time to vote throughout the week.
Those residents were glad they had the chance to vote so they don't have to worry about it on Tuesday.
"When I got here, the line was pretty long, so I thought it was going to take a while for me to be able to go in and vote. But surprisingly, you know, it wasn't too bad. So I was happy about that," said Lee County voter Fernando Granez.
Granez said it was hard for him to find the time to vote during the week wince he is registered to vote in Lee County but works in Naples.
"I just work from 9 to 5, but the commute kind of makes it a little bit longer. So I think the voting center is open from like 10 to 6. So I can't really come in Monday through Friday. So I just made sure, you know, I was able to come out on Saturday and cast my ballot," Granez said.
He is not the only one who had trouble because of the large lines. NBC2 spoke with a voter on Saturday who said she works seven days a week, making it nearly impossible because of the wait time.
"I did try to come on a lunch break, but the line was actually almost to the end of the building, so it was too hard to get in," said Lee County voter Crystal Briscoe.
Others decided to cast their ballot through the mail because of their experience years ago.
"Well, I once stood in line out on Pine Island when I wanted to vote terribly bad for Mr. Obama. And it was 2.5 hours after work, and I, I couldn't do it, and I felt terrible. So after that I did the mail in. And it's so easy. It's so easy. And they give you so much time and can do it in the convenience of your own home," said Lee County voter Lisa Jolly.
Despite the issues each voter had, they tried their best to make sure they found time to cast their ballot.
So far, more than 200,000 people have voted early or by mail in Lee County.
Based on those numbers, you can see that people are trying their best to avoid those lines on Election Day.
