Matlacha-Pine Island Fire Department is investigating a marine fire after a boating accident on Patricio Island.
Crews responded to the incident around 6:45 p.m. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said they arrived on the scene around 7:56 p.m.
According to reports, a pontoon boat carrying three passengers crashed into the mangroves on Patricio Island.
All three passengers, two adult men and one 17-year-old boy, were brought to shore at Pineland Marina. Crews said one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
While on the scene, crews said they noticed a fire on the nearby Mondongo Island.
Fire crews responded and controlled the fire. FWC said this is an active investigation.
