A Cape Coral Developer being investigated by the police is facing new allegations.
Tamara Manning of Miami is suing Beattie Development for taking her money and never finishing the job. According to the lawsuit, in April of 2022, Manning signed a contract with Beattie to build a home on Northwest 30th Street.
It demanded Manning pay close to $260,000. In July 2023, she said Beattie asked for an extra $40,000. The developer blamed the COVID-19 pandemic, inflation and recent hurricanes on the price jump and delays. Fast forward to now and Manning's home is still unfinished.
The lawsuit comes 3 months after Cape Coral police raided Beattie Development's office. More than half a dozen customers filed complaints with the state that Beattie scammed them as well.
NBC2 reached out to Cape Coral police today to see if they could give an update on their investigation into the company and the owner Paul Beattie. They say it is still ongoing, and their detectives are working tirelessly on the case.
NBC2 also reached out to the lawyers representing Beattie Development and Tamara Manning, but we have yet to hear back.
