Florida Gulf Coast University's Alico Arena received several upgrades to better the game-day experience for Eagles fans.
From the moment fans enter the arena, new window signage welcomes fans to support "Your Hometown Team." The signage carries over to the box office where fans will be able to more easily read important messages regarding ticket sales and pickups.
When departing the arena, newly installed floodlights will increase visibility throughout the entrance.
State-of-the-art weapons detection systems have been installed to provide a higher level of security for those entering the arena.
Once inside the arena, FGCU visitors will have a new auditory experience thanks to an enhanced sound system.
As part of the FGCU's goal to be a sustainable institution, digital game programs will be provided for the upcoming season.
QR codes to access the programs will be available in several areas around the arena, including section signage, walls near concession stands and the Alico Arena elevator.
Fans will also have more options at the Alico Arena concession stands, with many different specials available throughout the season. Students will enjoy a season-long $3 beer special, which will be extended to the public on select dates during both the men's and women's basketball seasons.
Targeted giveaways begin with the home openers. Rally towels will be available for the first 1,000 students Nov. 13 as the men take on St. Bonaventure.
Four days later, at the women's basketball home opener against NJIT, 1,000 jersey koozies will be handed out.
Later in the season, be sure to get to Alico early for beach towels when the women battle EKU Jan. 25.
The major giveaway slate wraps up in February as FGCU celebrates homecoming. The first 1,000 fans will receive Hawaiian Shirts before the men take on Stetson Feb. 1.
New premium seating opportunities will be unveiled at both the courtside and suite levels. The addition of courtside tables will allow fans to get closer to the action, and single-game suites are available for the first time. Season, group and single-game tickets are available for both men's and women's basketball.
