If you’ve driven along Palm Tree Boulevard in Cape Coral the past couple of days, you’ve probably noticed a bunch of cameras tied to trees and poles.
Neighbors said they’re trying to figure out what the cameras are for.
"Perplexed, only because I have no idea what they're for," neighbor Fred Jordan said.
"When we were walking the dog and we said, 'What? What is that?' We thought it was a camera, and there were cameras in other places, but this one was actually on our property. We have no idea what it's for," Margaret Gonzalez said.
We saw a post on social media from someone asking why the cameras are up. So, we came over, found dozens of them and asked the city what their purpose is.
The city says the cameras are monitoring traffic for a project, and they count how many cars pass through.
As for the ones in yards, the city said they’re outside property lines.
