The final regular season game between St. John Neumann and First Baptist Academy had a district title on the line. A win for FBA would move the Lions to 7-2 and clinch the Class 1A District 11 championship. On the other hand, an upset win for Neumann would force a three-way tie for first with FBA and Community School of Naples.
The Lions got right to it as Jayden Petit scored first to get FBA on the board. Bradley Martino added on two more touchdowns to give the Lions the 19-0 lead after one.
FBA continued to pile it on Neumann in the second, Sam Sparacio finding the endzone twice, quarterback Brady Quinn rushing one in himself, and Martino notching his third score to rack up a 46-0 lead at the break.
With a running clock in the third quarter, the Lions marched down and struck again, taking up 10:20 on the drive. Gam Tanis punched it in.
Neumann found some life when Elijah Summers picked off Brady Quinn in the fourth, leading to a Payton Frontino-Dante Lindsey receiving touchdown and avoiding the shutout.
FBA pulls out all the stops and punches its ticket to the playoffs.
FINAL: First Baptist Academy 52, St. John Neumann 7.
