We are tracking a new area for potential development in the southwestern Caribbean Sea. There is a low chance of development as it drifts westward towards Central America.
Rafael has become post-tropical as it no longer has a defined center of circulation.
The remnant low is expected to meander in the Gulf before dissipating on Monday or Tuesday.
It strengthened into a category 3 hurricane early Friday morning, making it one of the strongest storms on record in the Gulf during the month of November.
We have also been monitoring an area near the Bahamas, but chances have fallen to 0% as shower activity has diminished in the area.
