The brand new Disney Treasure cruise ship rescued four people from a sinking boat in the Atlantic after answering a broadcast from the U.S. Coast Guard on Sunday.
On Sunday around 8:30 a.m., the U.S. Coast Guard said they received a call from a 50-foot catamaran, the Serenity, located 265 miles off the coast of Bermuda.
According to reports, the boat had become disabled due to a gasket failure in the escape hatch before taking on water.
The boat requested assistance, and the Coast Guard issued a broadcast.
The brand new Disney Treasure was on its first transatlantic sailing from Eemshaven, Netherlands, to its new home in Port Canaveral, Florida, when crew members received the call.

Fortunately enough, the Disney Treasure happened to be the closest asset to the distress call, which was 80 miles away.
The cruise ship launched one of its small boats, and members were able to rescue all four people on board the catamaran between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

There were no medical concerns reported with any of the members on board.
The Disney Treasure is Disney Cruise Line's newest ship , which is scheduled to set sail on its maiden voyage on Dec. 21.
The ship will be the second of three Triton Class ships, following the Disney Wish and preceding the Disney Destiny.
