LCEC said you can't just look at your monthly bill. Instead, track the breakdown of how you were billed each day.
LCEC said their usage calculator wasn't working during power restoration after the storm.
When this happens, they said Smarthub will usually take the last reading and the most recent reading and average them together. That amount is spread across the days you didn’t have power.
Other things that affect your bill are how long you were without power and how much you used after your power was turned back on.
So, if you had big fans and dehumidifiers drying out your home, or had your ac lower than usual, LCEC said this can cause your bill could be higher than normal, even without power for a week.
LCEC said you won't be billed for days you didn’t have power, and you should’ve received a notice about your bill after the hurricane.
