A Cape Coral man was arrested on DUI charges after allegedly hitting a police cruiser while under the influence on Saturday.
Erik Vrskovy, 30, is facing multiple charges after being arrested on Sunday in Cape Coral.
Officers with the Cape Coral Police Department said they responded to an accident near Diplomat Parkway and Andalusia Boulevard on Saturday around 2:40 a.m.
According to reports, Vrskovy ran away after hitting a mailbox, a sign and an unoccupied police car.
Officers checked a 7-Eleven gas station that was near the scene, and an employee reportedly pointed an officer to a male who was in the back of the store with "obvious injuries."
Officers said they talked to Vrskovy who initially denied being involved in an accident, but later admitted.
Vrskovy was taken to the hospital for evaluation where officers said his blood alcohol content was over .15.
Vrskovy was arrested and is facing one count of DUI greater than .15 BAC, three counts of DUI With property damage and three counts of hit and run with property damage.
