A naked man caught on camera in an Iona neighborhood was arrested on Thursday after concerning residents.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, around 9:50 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a naked man on the 5000 block of Loyola Lane on Thursday, Nov. 14.
The suspect was later identified as Genero Anthony Rosciti, 30, was seen on surveillance video on Wednesday walking through a homeowner's lanai naked with a white shirt over his head.
The suspect ran off after the homeowner activated their alarm.
LCSO said deputies who were actively patrolling the neighborhood nearby came to the area with detectives, K9 units, and drones.
Another call came in at 10:36 p.m. from the 7000 block of Drake Drive regarding a suspicious person matching the same suspect description.
In the meantime, detectives interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence.
Additional sightings of the suspect led to the 5000 block of Peppertree Drive.
When deputies arrived, the suspect ran into the trees around a pond. K-9s continued to track the suspect.
NBC2 was in this neighborhood on Wednesday, talking to neighbors about a suspicious man who was caught on camera. Both videos NBC2 obtained show that the prowler was wearing the same shirt wrapped around his head.
"I think he's looking for attention, and I think he's going to do it until he gets caught," Keri Hendry said.
"It's weird, it's uncomfortable feeling, you go to bed at night you know you lock the doors. you don't expect anything like this to happen," Jim Jardine said.
"We just don't know what he's going to do next. I mean, the idea that you're trying to go to sleep and someone's creeping around your backyard is very unsettling. With the holidays and the hurricanes and everything else that everyone's been through around here, do we really need this guy," Hendry said.
