The waffle is one food that puts American breakfast on the grid.
However, in Cape Coral, one business owner isn't waffling around with the idea of waffles for more meals than one.
"Nothing is verboten here!" said Let's Waffle owner Nadin Feix.
Feix opened her shop in April 2024.
She wants to offer something that makes customers' taste buds go bananas.
Feix is proving that waffles can be enjoyed any time of the day.
"Who said waffles only one time a day?" said Rich, a customer from Fort Myers.
Feix is from Germany and moved to Cape Coral two and a half years ago. She didn't just bring her food; she brought her country's traditions, like "kaffeeklatsch."
"'Kaffeeklatsch' is something we do in Germany when we meet friends or family," said Feix. "Just for nothing really on point. It's just something like, oh, do you have time today? Do you want to come around for kaffeeklatsch?"
Kaffeeklatsch is something Cape Coralites can embrace.
Feix creates her spread well beyond just your typical syrup and butter.
One of her creations? "The tomato mozzarella Italian love. It's not too much; people know what's on it. Prosciutto on a waffle. They can handle it," Feix said.
And for the advanced waffle eaters? Feix said, "Even the Germans think I'm a little crazy for putting bratwurst on the waffle."
But for Feix, at the end of the day, it's all about bringing people together.
"It's a positive food," Feix said. "Especially in my case. It's heart-shaped. Customers are always surprised, like, 'Oh, look at this!'"
So while some people might not even consider putting a bratwurst on waffles, Feix hopes they don't hesitate to try something new.
