A man was found guilty and sentenced to prison for drug trafficking in Hendry County Thursday.
According to the State Attorney's Office, Darius Redd, known by the alias "DRedd", sold drugs from his vehicle parked near an apartment complex by a county park.
The Hendry County Sheriff's Office arrested Redd following an undercover operation targeting drug sales around Clewiston in 2022.
The release says Redd was convicted of trafficking in phenethylamines - 10 grams or more, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 ft. of a public park, possession of transportation paraphernalia and violating probation in two previous drug cases.
Redd was found guilty, fined and sentenced to a total of 17 years in prison, followed by two years of community control and 10 years of probation.
