The NBC2 Giving Tree is making a joyful return for its 38th year in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers-Edison to help spread holiday cheer to Gulf Coast senior citizens.
Sponsored by "Your Local Ford Dealer," the annual tradition has delivered more than 100,000 gifts over the past 37 years, making a significant impact on the lives of seniors throughout the region.
This year’s NBC2 Giving Tree kicks off on Sunday, November 26, with a goal of distributing more than 3,600 gifts to local seniors.
Trees are conveniently located at area Ford dealerships, including:
- Galloway Ford - 1800 Boy Scout Dr, Fort Myers
- Tamiami Ford - 1471 Airport-Pulling Rd N, Naples
- Coconut Point Ford - 22400 S Tamiami Trl, Estero
- Jarrett Ford of Charlotte County - 3156 Tamiami Trl, Port Charlotte
- LaBelle Ford - 851 S Main St, LaBelle
- DeSoto Ford - 3039 SE Hwy 70, Arcadia
- Englewood Ford - 1908 S McCall Rd, Englewood
To participate, community members are encouraged to visit any of the above Ford dealerships, select a tag from the NBC2 Giving Tree, and follow the instructions on it.
The process is simple: purchase and wrap a gift, then return it with the tag attached by Wednesday, December 13 at 5 p.m.
For added convenience, a helpful tip is to snap a photo of the front and back of the tag when you take one. This way, if the tag is misplaced, you’ll still have all the necessary information to ensure your gift reaches its intended recipient.
The effort wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers-Edison , which partners with NBC2 to handle the pickup, sorting, and storage of gifts until they’re distributed. While not sponsors, their collaboration ensures a smooth operation year after year.
