Residents in unincorporated Lee County will get to keep their FEMA flood insurance discounts.
According to Lee County officials, FEMA determined residents with policies under the National Flood Insurance Program will keep the 25% discount rate.
In March 2024, FEMA told Lee County officials that their Community Rating System classification and NFIP discounts would be retrograde if they didn't submit the correct documentation by the Nov. 18 deadline.
The City of Cape Coral also retained its 25 percent flood insurance discount.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach , however, was placed on probation by FEMA and residents lost their flood insurance discounts.
