FEMA announced its approval of $1 billion in disaster assistance to help Florida homeowners and renters recover from hurricanes Milton, Helene and Debby.
Under FEMA's Individual Assistance program, Florida homeowners and renters affected by the hurricanes may be eligible for assistance for basic home repairs, property losses and other uninsured or underinsured disaster-caused expenses.
The total approval for each hurricane is as follows:
- Hurricane Milton : $449.2 million
- Hurricane Helene : $516.6 million
- Hurricane Debby: $49.8 million
Floridians can still apply online through DisasterAssistance.gov . Residents may also apply by phone at 800-621-3362. Lines are open everyday and help is available in most languages.
Survivors may also visit a disaster recovery center for in-person, one-on-one help applying for disaster assistance. To find center locations visit FEMA's website , or text “DRC” and a Zip Code to 43362.
