Matlacha is coming back together, piece by piece, with many businesses opening back up.
CW Fudge Factory is reopening its doors Saturday, just in time for the holidays.
The owner, William Tidball, said he had to close his shop three times in the past two years.
"We were impacted by Ian," he said. "We were impacted by Helene. We were also impacted by the most recent one, Milton."
The shop closed for a little over a month due to Hurricane Milton, which brought water into the store. It also lost power for a week, which made all of its chocolate melt.
"I won't lie, I immediately said, 'That's it, I'm done,'" Tidball said. "Then, you swallow and roll up your sleeves again."
Other businesses, like Blue Dog Bar and Grille, are also reopening.
It reopened about a month ago, but owner John Lynch said they had their own cleaning up to do.
"With Milton, we only lost a couple small pieces of equipment," Lynch said. "Versus an entire kitchen like we did for Ian and then like we did for Helene."
Lynch has seen a lot of great turnout recently and is excited to see other businesses coming back.
"I'm excited about the CW Fudge opening back up," he said. "Miceli's is opening up, and Yucatan is opening up. It's better for the community as a whole."
