A Florida man has been arrested after he attacked children at a bus stop in Lake County Friday.
WFLA reports that Arthur Young, 59, tried to run over three middle schoolers that were waiting for their bus just after 8:30 a.m.
Young began to flee before stopping and attacking a teenage girl who was walking to the bus stop. Young exited his vehicle, physically held the teen down and tried to choke her.
Nearby residents intervened, stopping Young's attack.
“The immediate and heroic actions of the complainant and other residents in the area likely saved lives and allowed responding law enforcement personnel to apprehend Young within minutes of the initial call being received,” Lake County Sheriff's Office said in a statement given to WFLA .
WFLA reports Young was brought to a hospital to be evaluated and is facing charges of aggravated assault, child abuse, and kidnapping.
