One man is dead and another is in the hospital after a double shooting on Heck Drive in North Fort Myers on Saturday evening.
Deputies are no longer on the scene as of Monday morning, but they said it still remains a very active investigation.
NBC2 spoke to the mother of the 18-year-old man who is in the hospital, as she pleaded for justice.
"This was a cold blooded murder...A hard, cold blooded murder and attempted murder. And I pray that whoever is out there and knows anything about what happened, if they have any clue on who or what car to please call the police department or the detective on call and speak up, because somebody out there knows something," Lara pleaded.
Lara told NBC2 that her son was with his friend when they were both shot along Heck Drive.
She said Lee County detectives told her that her son and his friend were sitting in the car when someone allegedly approached them and started shooting.
"You know, I'm not going to say why my son, you know, because at this moment, there's a mother that lost her son. That was with my son. You know, I just," Lara said. "Why does it have to be so much cruelty? You know, just to walk up to somebody and just start shooting at them."
Lara said her son was shot in the face, and his body was riddled with bullets. Investigators said one man died from his wounds.
The victim's mother said her son will need to have multiple surgeries, however - he was able to speak to her yesterday.
"It was multiple gunshot wounds. There was one to the face. They said it's too many holes in his abdomen to count. His arm, several holes in his arm. They told me they weren't able to get the bullets out. He is going into surgery in the morning, and Tuesday he is going under surgery for his left arm," Lara said.
There is no word on if any suspects are in custody at this time.
