The Collier County Sheriff's Office helped a mother deliver a baby in Immokalee overnight Monday.
According to CCSO, a call came in around 1:30 a.m. regarding a 35-year-old pregnant woman who was having contractions at her house.
Sgt. Hunter Woods and Cpl. Veronica Martinez responded to the scene.
CCSO states the mother's water broke, and the baby's head was beginning to crown.
Sgt. Woods laid the woman on the floor while asking for towels and blankets.
Cpl. Martinez put gloves on and asked the woman to push.
A baby girl was born at 1:38 a.m.
The sheriff's office said Sgt. Woods moved the umbilical cord from putting pressure on the newborn’s neck.
Cpl. Martinez stayed with the two until paramedics arrived to take them to the hospital. CCSO said the mom and her baby are in good condition.
