A man was arrested Monday after being accused of selling drugs to undercover detectives twice.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, Hubert William Coggins Jr. is accused of selling meth to undercover detectives in a county park.
On Monday, Nov. 18, the sheriff's office received a tip that someone was dealing drugs at Franz Ross Park.
The tip was passed to the narcotics unit, which began investigating.
While working undercover, detectives arranged to meet Coggins to buy methamphetamine two different times.
The substance was tested both times and alerted positive for drugs.
The CCSO states detectives bought 3 grams from Coggins.
According to the report, probable cause was established for his arrest.
Detectives found Coggins' vehicle Monday and took him into custody.
A K-9 alerted them to drugs being inside the car.
Inside, deputies found a smoking pipe and a plastic baggie with a crystallized substance. It tested positive for meth.
The total weight was 8.4 grams.
