One man is in custody following an attack at a golf club in Palm Beach Gardens.
Junior Boucher, 36, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree murder.
According to arresting documents, the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department responded to the Sandhill Crane Golf Club at 1:22 p.m. on Monday following several 911 calls involving a man attacking another man with a golf club.
When police arrived at the scene at the first hole, the victim was found with deep cuts to the back of his head near a body of water.
Despite providing lifesaving medical care to the victim, he was pronounced dead at the scene by fire rescue personnel.
Police then contacted Boucher who was fleeing the scene.
The report notes that officers told the Boucher to stop multiple times. Boucher was eventually taken into custody after the use of an electronic control weapon.
A witness told police that while he and two other people, including the victim, were playing golf on the first hole was when Boucher was heard yelling. They looked towards the location and observed the victim retreating from Boucher.
According to the witness, Boucher was in possession of a golf club and swinging the club at the victim. At one point, the victim yelled “he’s trying to kill me" multiple times. Both men were observed falling to the ground. Boucher is allegedly seen striking the victim multiple times with a golf club.
The two men separated and Boucher chased the victim with another golf club towards a pond on the first hole.
At that point, the witness said they observed Boucher strike the victim multiple times in the head until they were in the pond. According to the witness, Boucher jumped on top of the victim and appeared to be choking the victim. The witness said Boucher got off of the victim and began to strike the victim in the head with a golf club.
According to the report, Boucher is accused of forcibly holding the victim's head underwater.
The witness said Boucher was seen exiting the water and removing his clothing and began to walk away.
Boucher is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail with no bond.
