A 16-year-old boy was arrested after being accused of stealing a car and leading Florida troopers on a chase through Cape Coral on Tuesday evening.
Troopers said they attempted a traffic stop on a stolen car on Pondella Road, near Barrett Road, when the driver, later identified as Aaron Salvador Silvafernandez, 16, stopped the car before speeding away.
FHP said they pursued the car before performing a successful pit maneuver. Silvafernandez reportedly got out and ran away on foot.
Troopers said with the help from local agencies, Silvafernandez was taken into custody.
Silvafernandez was arrested and is facing charges of grand theft, reckless driving, driving without a valid license and obstruction.
