A man has been arrested after a stabbing took place along New York drive in Tice overnight on Sunday.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called out to a stabbing at a home on New York drive around 1:20 a.m.
Deputies say that upon arrival they found a woman with multiple stab wounds inside the home, who was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.
LCSO detectives say that the suspect, Bonnier Sarmiento Lanza, 33, broke into the victim's home and began hitting and stabbing her multiple times in her sleep.
Deputies located Sarmiento Lanza one street away using a drone and arrested him.
Sarmiento Lanza is facing charges of two counts of burglary with battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
