The Tommy Bohanon Foundation held its 5th annual softball tournament and toy drive on Saturday.
The one-day tournament and toy drive benefit local families in need.
The event consisted of professional and non-professional softball teams. To play, you had to donate a toy. People donated a variety of toys, including dolls and even bikes.
At the event, there was a variety of vendors and bounce houses for kids. Santa Claus even made a guest appearance!
Bohanon, former NFL fullback and local Southwest Florida resident said it's a huge deal to host the event.
"We are trying to give the kids of Southwest Florida a Christmas that they wouldn't otherwise have, so to be able to come out here and raise $20,000 to $30,000 in toys and donations is huge because we don't want any kid to be left behind," Bohanon said.
His nonprofit is dedicated to supporting young athletes to reach their fullest potential.
All donations from the softball and toy drive go toward a shopping spree for young athletes who need it.
