A 7-year-old boy with autism is dead after drowning in a pond in the Town Treeline Luxury Apartment complex on Friday.
Police said they responded to Grand Jardin Drive in Fort Myers around 12:03 p.m. to find CPR in progress.
FMPD said the boy was taken to Golisano Children's Hospital where he died.
According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, the boy, who had autism, was found in the pond after he got out of the home without anyone noticing.
