The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested a man accused of prowling through a North Fort Myers community with trafficking amounts of drugs on Monday evening.
George Nicholas Bankuti, 45, is facing multiple charges after deputies said they arrested him in the Moody River Estates.
Deputies said they responded to a home on Jenny Cae Lane around 10 p.m. for reports of a suspicious person loitering in the area.
According to reports, deputies learned the Bankuti was 5'10" with a mohawk. The caller told deputies he approached the residence before being scared off.
While deputies continued their investigation, LCSO said they received a second call regarding loitering within the same community.
The complainant said a suspicious person appearing under the influence entered their screened patio. Reports said Bankuti left his sunglasses, cell phone and driver's license in the patio before leaving the area.
As deputies searched Bankuti's bags, they said they located several baggies containing a total of 57.8 grams of methamphetamine, 3.2 grams of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.
Bankuti was arrested and is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
- Trafficking amphetamine
- Drug possession
- Loitering
