A 70-year-old man was arrested after police said he intentionally crashed his car into the USAA building in Tampa on Tuesday.
Tampa police said around 2:10 p.m., officers responded to USAA, located at 17200 Commerce Park Boulevard, for reports of a vehicle that crashed inside a building.
Officers said the driver, later identified as Robert Beaty, arrived at the guard gate demanding to speak with a USAA representative.
Guards reportedly refused entry to Beaty, who in turn put on a helmet, drove recklessly through the USAA parking garage and damaged numerous fences inside the property.
A marked security SUV then pulled behind Beaty in an attempt to block him in before he reportedly reversed and struck their car.
Officers said they found Beaty on the third floor of the parking garage when they arrived. Beaty was taken into custody.
Police said no one was injured during the incident.
The release states Beaty was taken to Orient Road Jail and is facing two charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, one charge of burglary and one charge of criminal mischief.
Reports state Beaty is not believed to be a former employee of USAA.
