Charlotte County detectives have been investigating a deadly shooting along Nasturtium Drive since Monday. Now, investigators have identified a person of interest in the case.
Tiffany May, 37, was named a person of interest after 63-year-old Denis Patrick Carmody was shot and killed in front of his residence.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, May was arrested on unrelated charges.
However, the CCSO said she was in possession of a firearm while on the property and gave law enforcement officers a false name.
May faces charges of possessing firearm ammunition or a weapon by a Florida convicted felon and giving a false ID to a law enforcement officer.
She is being held in Charlotte County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Deputies said the CCSO's Major Crimes Unit is still working to gather evidence and information.
