A 63-year-old Fort Myers man died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a standing tree on Friday night. The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 7:10 p.m.
According to FHP, the man was driving south on Three Oaks Parkway just north of Oakwilde Boulevard.
FHP troopers said the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander entered a raised center median after the man failed to negotiate a curve to the right.
The Mitsubishi then traveled over two different portions of shrubs before it collided with a standing tree.
The Fort Myers man was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center and later pronounced dead, according to FHP.
FHP also said the crash remains under investigation.
