A student was arrested on Thursday after being accused of making a threat against Florida Gulf Coast University on social media.
According to the university, the FGCU police department learned about a threat on the social media platform, Snapchat. The threat was alleging harm to the university's campus.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested Nolan Philip Romeo Marcoux, 23. He faces charges of threatening a mass shooting/terrorism and drug possession.
The university police department worked with the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the Fort Myers Police Department, and the FBI.
The university asks people to report any suspicious activity to the FGCU Police Department at (239) 590-1900.
