The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral is hosting the Incredible Bank Holiday Festival of Lights on Saturday.
Cape Coral Parkway will be closed all Saturday long beginning at 5 a.m. and will reopen at 2:00 a.m. early Sunday morning.
The festivities will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. along Cape Coral Parkway from Del Prado to Candia Street.
The opening ceremony will begin at 5:45 p.m. and Santa will be arriving for the official LCEC tree lighting at 6:15 p.m.
Parking for the event is on a first come first served basis in the public parking lots and residents are urged to be cautious of tow zones in the downtown area.
There will also be a holiday food drive at the Snow Slide to benefit the Cape Coral Caring Center to help families in need during this holiday season.
There will be plenty of activities to participate in at the event, including:
- The 15-Ton Snow Slide located adjacent to the Winn-Dixie parking lot.
- The Tiny Tots Train Ride on Vincennes Boulevard.
- The Candy Cane Park free kids area located at the east end of the event.
- Four performance stages with local entertainers and dance troupes performing.
