Deputies have arrested a 16-year-old in connection to the carjacking that happened in Lee County on Friday afternoon.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, there were two different scenes related to the investigation.
The carjacking happened at McGregor Baptist Church on Colonial Boulevard. LCSO said it was working in conjunction with the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the FHP, troopers pursued the car and it eventually crashed into two unoccupied vehicles near Paul J. Doherty Parkway and Chamberlain Parkway.
LCSO arrested Felix Ayala, 16, in connection to the carjacking. Ayala previously had been arrested at the age of 12 for breaking into a Cape Coral gun shop and stealing guns.
FHP confirmed they also arrested someone else in this investigation. Cecil Woodward, 17, was arrested and charged with fleeing, hit and run and accessory after the fact, according to FHP.
There were no reported injuries and LCSO's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
People at the church told NBC2 that the vehicle belonged to a member. They also said the church member was unharmed during the incident.
