A Lehigh Acres man has been charged with homicide in connection to a murder that occurred back in October in Fort Myers.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, officers were on route to Colonial Boulevard near Ortiz Avenue around 6:50 p.m. on October 27 when they were advised of a man who was wounded.
Officers say when they arrived on scene they found Jerry Adams Jr., 22, lying on the grass with a wound to the chest, who was later pronounced dead by Lee County EMS.
FMPD identified Robert Lawrence, 45, as a suspect and arrested him at his home on October 28 in connection to the murder.
The homicide warrant for Lawrence was approved and served overnight.
Lawrence is currently in custody and is being charged with homicide along with robbery with a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment charges.
