The 36th Annual Christmas Boat Parade returned for another year of family fun and Christmas cheer on Fort Myers Beach. It's one of the most festive nights of the year on Fort Myers Beach.
"Turning another year and realizing life is too short and I better do it now because I don't know what next year is going to bring," said Patricia Rosado.
Patricia usually spends her holidays in New York City, this time around she wanted to spend time on Fort Myers Beach.
"In New York right now, we're having snow and usually I go to like to all the events in Radio City and all of that, so this is really exciting to have it in a different perspective and celebrate Christmas," said Rosado.
Celebrating the holidays at Salty Sam's Marina, for the annual Christmas Boat Parade, hear and others around the beach watched dozens of boats decked out in lights.
"We actually had four boats literally sign up in the last few hours, so that should bring us to about 36 boats, we are a little shy of what we had last year at 40, but we're thrilled that everybody's out here and they're bringing their Christmas spirit," said Jackie Liszak the Fort Myers Beach Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.
Liszak told NBC2 that people from all over came out for this event.
"This is just another one of our signature events, we're breathing life back into Fort Myers Beach, into San Carlos Island, into Southwest Florida," said Liszak. "We are here, we are back in business, and we are ready for Christmas and the holidays."
