Deputies arrested two teens after being accused of carjacking a woman outside McGregor Baptist Church Friday afternoon.
LCSO received a call in regards to a carjacking at McGregor Baptist Church along Colonial Boulevard around 11:15 a.m.
Deputies spoke with a woman who said she was outside in the parking lot when 16-year-old Felix Ayala approached her.
According to LCSO, Ayala threatened to shoot a woman in the parking lot if she did not hand over the keys to her Toyota Sienna.
The report states Ayala saw the keys in the backseat, grabbed them, and left the school inside her car.
The woman identified Ayala from a photo lineup.
Around 2:44 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol Troopers found the car driving near Daniel's Parkway and Paul J Doherty Parkway.
A traffic stop was attempted on the car, but the driver fled from troopers. The report states the car crashed into parked vehicles before two people got out and ran away.
Ayala fled to Southwest Florida International Airport, dodging deputies and K-9s.
Deputies said Ayala then reportedly went onto the airport's tarmac near airplanes before being arrested by deputies.
According to reports, Ayala had previously been arrested at 12 years old for breaking into a Cape Coral gun shop and stealing guns.
Florida trooper said the driver, later identified as Cecil Woodward, 17, was arrested and charged with fleeing, hit-and-run and accessory after the fact.
People at the church told NBC2 that the vehicle belonged to a member. They also said the church member was unharmed during the incident.
Ayala is facing charges of carjacking without a weapon and trespassing on critical infrastructure property.
