Police arrested a man accused of threatening a victim with a Molotov Cocktail and a sword on Sunday in Cape Coral.
Cape Coral Police responded to SE 8th Avenue on Sunday around 2:05 a.m. for reports of a disturbance.
The victim told officers that the suspect, Luis Vargas Izquierdo, 36, threatened him while holding a glass bottle with a cloth wrapped around its top, claiming it was a Molotov Cocktail.
According to reports, Vargas Izquierdo threatened to throw it at one of the cars in the driveway and catch it on fire.
The victim said Vargas Izquierdo also pulled out a sword and tapped the windshield of a car while continuing to threaten him.
CCPD said the interaction was captured on video by a Ring doorbell camera.
Vargas Izquierdo reportedly claimed he went to the house to send a message regarding disrespect to a family member.
Investigations confirmed that Vargas Izquierdo brought a glass bottle containing a small amount of gasoline to create a Molotov cocktail and carried a sword during the incident to "make a point."
Officers said they found Vargas Izquierdo at his home nearby and arrested him.
Vargas Izquierdo is now facing one count of possession of a firebomb.
