Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is searching for a suspect accused of committing criminal mischief at Veterans Park Recreational Center in Lehigh Acres.
"I do think that, if it was inappropriate, obviously I wouldn't want my children to be exposed to that," said Anna Lopez, a mom who brings her kids to the park.
Crime Stoppers said on Sunday that an employee of the park arrived at work to discover graffiti in multiple locations.
"I was surprised to hear that. There's people here all the time. So kind of shocked that nobody caught him in the act and that he was able to confidently do that," said Lopez.
The employee reported seeing graffiti in the bathroom area and on poles around the park. Crime Stoppers said the damages total more than $1,100.
"I'm sure this was done as an innocent thing, that teenagers make these kinds of mistakes, but it's a felony crime, and somebody needs to be held responsible for it," said Crime Stoppers manager Trish Routte.
Video from Crime Stoppers showed the suspect in the area shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.
According to reports, the video also showed additional people arriving and standing around talking while the suspect drew on the walls.
