A 35-year-old Charlotte County man is facing charges for involving a 16-year-old in a theft spree early Tuesday morning.
According to Charlotte County deputies, Duniel Gonzalez brought the teenager along to help him commit a crime at Grand Air Services on South McCall Road in Englewood around 3 a.m. Deputies on patrol in the area intercepted the pair and caught them in the act, loading nine to 10 air conditioning units onto a trailer, preparing to steal the goods.
Gonzalez was arrested for grand theft and taken to the Charlotte County Jail. In addition to the theft charges, he is also facing an accusation of contributing to the delinquency of a child for allegedly leading the teenager down the wrong path.
The 16-year-old was also arrested and charged with grand theft, a felony.
