The Miami Dolphins and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. have mutually agreed to part ways, NFL Network reported Friday morning.
The former Pro Bowl receiver was placed on league waivers, leaving an opportunity for one of the other 31 teams to claim Beckham through Monday.
In a strong wide receiver room, Beckham only logged nine catches for 55 yards in nine games for the Dolphins.
It makes sense Beckham's numbers aren't anything to write home about given the fact that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has targets in the form of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Jonnu Smith and De'Von Achane.
Though, Beckham hasn't always been an understudy role throughout his career.
The Louisiana State University product has been in the NFL for 10 years after being selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Over the course of his career, Beckham has garnered 962 targets while hauling in nearly 60% of those with 575 receptions along with 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns.
Beckham hasn't cracked a 1,000 yard season since 2019 when he was with the Cleveland Browns, which was also his last full season of play.
With playoffs starting in the coming weeks, a team vying for a spot in the post-season could use a piece like Beckham for added support.
If a team does claim Beckham, they will take on the remainder of the one-year deal he signed with the Dolphins this offseason.
That would cost in the ballpark of $210,000 and we’ll find out early next week if anyone rolls the dice on the veteran wideout.
