Cape Coral Police Department confirmed Saturday with NBC2 that a shooting took place at Fuegoz Lounge along Del Prado Boulevard overnight, injuring two people.
NBC2 spent the afternoon talking to residents who saw it all happen, telling us they heard at least 28 gunshots fired rapidly and saw dozens of people running and screaming for their safety.
"I heard some shots I was in my bedroom and my bedroom is in the front, so I kind of just leaned up to look out the window and saw chaos," Deloris Nunez told NBC2.
"People running into my yard, going between the two houses, I'm sure they were terrified, I was inside of a house, and they were outside amongst bullets."
Cape Coral police says the two people who were shot have non-life-threatening injuries, one witness said she saw two women who were injured.
Lisa Sams another neighbor who witnessed the madness told NBC2 that after a fight broke out in the parking lot 911 was called, and in a matter of minutes police surrounded the plaza.
"It's very terrifying, There's kids in the neighborhood, you know older adults and everything that, you know it could have become worse, bullets could've got through the house and everything," said Sams.
