Investigations are underway after the Florida Highway Patrol said troopers discovered a dead man at a rest area in Fort Myers.
Troopers responded to the rest area on Daniels Parkway and Goldenwood Drive around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
FHP said the man, a 40-year-old Cape Coral resident, was pronounced dead on the scene.
It is unclear what the cause of death was at this time. FHP said the Lee County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.
A portion of the rest area was closed for a few hours as investigations continued.
