Friends of the motorcyclist who died in a crash along Alico Road near Esplanade Lake Club Boulevard Friday afternoon spoke with NBC2.
They tell us the motorcyclist who died is 31-year-old Tyler Miller of Fort Myers.
"He has been a very good friend from Day 1," said Miller's best friend, Joel Vickery.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a man on a motorcycle was riding on Alico Road Friday when he hit the median and lost control, sliding into another lane. A dump truck was in that lane and ran him over.
The FHP has not confirmed the name of the man who died, but Vickery said it was Miller.
"He had very little, but he would give so much to everyone," Vickery said.
Vickery and Cheyenne Dino are getting married this December. While their love remains, the wedding will look different for Vickery. Miller was supposed to be his best man.
"We have decided we're not going to do a best man," he said. "We're going to just group together and do it as the group of guys that we knew he would want."
Miller also lived with the couple.
"I'm still waiting for him to walk through the door and say 'Hey, I got you,' because he was he was a jokester. He, he would prank you and make you laugh," Dino said.
Their message for motorcyclists is to be very careful on the road because they have seen firsthand just how dangerous it can be.
The FHP is still investigating the crash.
