Christmas arrived early in Estero as families lined up at Ocean Church for FK Your Diet’s annual holiday giveaway.
The line, stretching around the corner, saw people arriving as early as 1:30 p.m. for the 3 p.m. event, which continues to draw large crowds each year.
Originally focused on children in foster care, the giveaway now also serves the entire community.
"We found there was a bigger need in our community than just foster kids," said Amy Eldridge, who co-owns FK Your Diet with her husband Doug. "This year is our biggest yet."
Thanks to donations from customers and the local Facebook community, children can choose from toys, bikes, clothes and more, with each child receiving three tickets to pick their gifts.
Amy Eldridge and Doug are grateful for the overwhelming support and for Ocean Church’s generosity in providing the space for the growing event.
In addition to gifts, hot meals are being served to attendees. The giveaway, which began at 3 p.m., will continue until every gift is claimed, ensuring every child leaves with a smile and a special present to unwrap on Christmas morning.
