The Lee County Sheriff's deputies and the U.S. Marshals Service responded to a home in Lehigh Acres Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies arrived at a home near 9th Street SW and Ida Avenue S in the morning, stating there was a 'barricaded subject' related to an active investigation.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) indicated they were searching for an individual regarding active homicide charges.
According to LCSO, a deceased male was located inside the residence. LCSO said no one else was inside and deputies fired no shots.
LCSO has not confirmed if the deceased male was the 'barricaded subject'.
NBC2 News crews at the scene heard deputies announce, "We have a warrant. Come out with your hands up!" Law enforcement also deployed gas in an attempt to resolve the situation.
Drones circled the area overhead, while K9 units and medics were also present at the scene.
