Firefighters extinguished a house fire along Saint Charles Street in Fort Myers early Christmas morning.
According to the Fort Myers Fire Department, firefighters responded to a call at 5:41 a.m. on Christmas morning due to a home monitoring system alerting that there was smoke in the home.
Upon arrival, Fort Myers firefighters extinguished the fire and helped bring burnt items out of the home.
FMFD says the homeowner was out of town at the time of the fire and that there were no injuries reported.
The source of the fire was determined to come from the electrical breaker box in the garage.
The house is no longer habitable and the Red Cross will assist the homeowners with temporary housing.
