A Fort Myers homeowner along Harbor Lane woke up this morning to find her front yard torn up and her mailbox knocked off its post.
Joanne Miller, who had just finished recovering from Hurricane Milton, was shocked by the damage.
“After everything with the hurricanes, I thought I’d finally have some peace,” she said.
Tire tracks were left through her yard, and her mailbox was knocked over several feet away from its post, which was nearly buried in dirt. Miller’s boyfriend found the damage and showed her the photos.
“It looked like somebody purposely knocked everything over,” Miller said.
A neighbor told her they saw a car parked near Miller's property the night before, but the extent of the damage suggested it wasn’t an accident.
“It looked like it was a party,” Miller said.
Miller's security camera didn’t capture anything, and although she suspects the driver may have had some help, she remains puzzled.
"If it was an accident, at least leave a note," she said.
While cleaning up, Miller hopes her new mailbox will remain undisturbed.
“I’m just hoping they won’t come back,” she said as she dealt with the unwanted holiday gift.
