Authorities are searching for a south Fort Myers man with a history of driving under the influence, now wanted for violating his probation after his fourth DUI conviction.
According to SW Florida Crime Stoppers, Daniel Kelly, 62, has failed to meet several court-ordered requirements, including attending DUI school, participating in a victim impact panel, and completing community service.
Kelly’s most recent arrest occurred after state troopers spotted him driving erratically at 2:30 a.m. on U.S. 41, cutting across three lanes of traffic and driving over a raised concrete median.
After being pulled over, deputies say Kelly showed signs of impairment and claimed to have had “just two drinks,” but field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer showed otherwise.
He was taken to jail that night and later found guilty, receiving a sentence that included 24 months of probation.
Kelly’s repeated failure to comply with probation conditions has prompted a warrant for his arrest.
He is described as 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, and was last known to be living in South Fort Myers. Authorities are asking anyone with information on Kelly’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement.
