The renourishment of Park Shore Beach is underway in Naples on Monday after recent hurricanes have eroded the shoreline.
The Board of County Commissioners approved the $5.5 million project to replenish the beach, which has been impacted by natural erosion and recent storms.
The project aims to restore the beach to its standard 85-foot width, to provide storm protection and recreational space.
More than 167,700 pounds of sand will be sourced from Stewart Materials in Immokalee and transported using approved routes.
Construction crews will access the beach using the Horizon Way beach access off Gulf Shore Blvd. N. The access will be closed to the public throughout the project.
The work will take place Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with completion expected by mid-to-late February.
